KIMBERLY’S PLATFORM

  1. Treat People Equally Regardless of Their Income: Folks should not sit in jail just because they can't afford cash bail. If two people commit the same  non-violent offense, and one is out of jail in a day, while the other remains for months, that's not right.  Money should not determine how long you remain in jail. 

  2. Right Priorities: Free up resources to focus on timely prosecution of violent crime- by declining to charge low-level, non-violent misdemeanors like possession of marijuana.

  3. Keep our Kids out of the System: Better funding for youth diversion programs.

  4. More Support for Victims of Crime: Greater investments in victim's resources, especially underfunded resources for victims of color.

  5. No one is above the law: No one. 

  6. Transparency, Access and Accountability: Releasing Polk County Attorney's office data to measure progress in making the Polk County Justice system more just. Meeting with community members, listening to community concerns and taking action.
